Mxy's 3D Prints Store
We have an online store where we sell custom 3D prints. These include dragons, puzzle boxes and other awesome things (that you should absolutely check out). Choose the model and filament colour you want and we'll send it to you.
We also go to markets and conventions in Victoria. If you sign up for our newsletter, you'll get a heads up on what markets we are at.
Custom 3D Prints
Have you found a model on Printables, Thangs or another 3D model website? Want it but don't have a 3D printer?
Good news! We have a 3D printer and are happy to print models for you. Our pricing equation for custom prints is: material cost + $10 per hour of printing
Our material cost equation is filament price / filament weight (g) * model weight (g).
Let's say you want a print that takes 2 hours and 16 minutes and uses 100g of our Tech Black filament. This filament costs $35 for 1kg spool.
Material price = 35 / 1000 * 100 = $3.50
$10 per hour for 2 hours and 16 minutes is $22.67
$22.67 + $3.50 = $26.17 total
If you wish, we can take a screenshot of the slicer we use and send it to you so you can see how long the print takes and how much filament is used.
Recycling
As a 3D printing business, we can go through a lot of filament. Thankfully, PLA is a material that can be recycled.
We have access to a shredder that takes our filament waste and converts it into tiny plastic pieces; we are then able to melt down the plastic into keyrings. Every so often, we will release our limited edition, one of a kind keyrings. We use mica powder and our shredded filament to create alphabet keychains.
